Our Lawn Care Program Includes (8-round application program):

  • Early and late spring treatments - fertilization application, promoting color as well as providing pre-emergent weed control.
  • Early and late summer treatments - fertilization application, equipping your soil with the proper micronutrients needed to help your grass withstand heat stress and drought. Targets summer weeds, CG, and nutsedge.
  • Grub and insect control application - specifically designed to protect your yard from a variety of destructive grubs and insects and keep your roots strong! Grub application is typically done with the early summer application.
  • Early and late fall treatments -fertilization application, implementing our iron-rich fertilizer to improve color, encourage growth, and secure your lawn for winter so that it is properly primed for spring.
  • Lime treatment (usually fall) - regulating your soil’s PH levels to enhance root development, vigor, and stress tolerance.

Grub Control for Lawns

Beetle larvae, better known as grubs, are extremely common in Virginia. Grubs can cause extensive damage to your lawn as they eat at your grass’ roots, which cuts off access to nutrients needed to grow. Not only this, but grubs also welcome wildlife such as birds, raccoons, and skunks, as they feed on grubs, which welcomes an entirely different host of problems. For grub control, you can count on, call Advantage Landscaping! We provide preventative and curative grub control starting in mid-June until early August as part of our regularly scheduled lawn care program.

Signs you need grub control in Virginia are:

  • Dead patches that won’t grow.
  • Grass that won’t respond to water or lawn fertilization.
  • Sponge-like feel when you step on it
  • The ability to easily pull back your turf.
  • Wildlife such as raccoons and skunks.

Lawn Disease Control to Cure Growing Fungi

Because of our hot and humid summers typically filled with rain, it’s probable that your lawn is susceptible to contracting a lawn disease. Lawn diseases are when a fungus makes its way into either the blades of grass or the roots, meaning various lawn diseases have various causations and treatment plans. That’s why if you see signs of lawn disease, such as discolored grass, thin or bare patches, or squishy turf, you need to call Advantage Landscaping. Our lawn technicians are trained in identifying and treating each fungus, meaning you can rest assured that your lawn will be healthy again in no time.

Our complete lawn care packages treat for lawn diseases such as:

Brown patch—Circular, brownish-yellow patches of dead-looking grass usually 6 feet in diameter. Most people confuse this with dollar spot disease.

Dollar spot—Light tan, silver dollar-sized fungus with reddish-brown borders. These rough patches affect the leaf blade instead of the soil.

Red thread—Red or pink threading that kind of looks like webbing.

Summer patch—Wilted, straw-colored turf usually 2 inches in diameter. This fungus infects the roots.

And more!
